Scarves, belts, hats, handbags, and other accessories can be tricky to keep in some sort of order. They’re small, and hard to fold or stack. They end up in piles, or scattered all over the place, so you can never find what you want to wear.
Help is here! Here are some of my favorite ways to organize fashion accessories.
5 Clever Ways to Organize Fashion Accessories
1. Baskets & Bins
Baskets come in all shapes and sizes. This cube shaped basked is great for holding swimwear. Bathing suits roll up and can be stacked, making the deep basket useful. Deep baskets also work well for handbags.
Shallower baskets may be better for items like socks, or winter hats and gloves. Then you don’t have to dig through too many layers to find what you want.
Trays are extremely handy for storage. This tray holds rolled up silk scarves, making them easy to see while keeping them contained.
A tray is also the perfect place to store rolled up belts or ties.
Pick up a few trays at a thrift store, or the dollar store. Keep them on a shelf in your closet, or even stacked in a drawer.
3. Pegs or Hooks
Actually an accordion-style cup holder, these pegs are perfect for scarves, belts, hats, and more. Hang it on a wall in your closet like this, to keep all your accessories handy.
Any pegs or hooks will do. Shop your house for an unused coat rack, or just screw a few pegs into the wall in your closet.
4. Drawer Pulls or Knobs
Yes, that does say drawer pulls. The knobby kind can be really handy places to hang your hats. If you get the pulls that have an attached bolt, they’ll screw right into the drywall. Just don’t hang anything too heavy on it.
Knobs are a great way to store hats without crushing them.
Those baskets and bins have to go somewhere. Cubbies create space to store multiple baskets in a smaller area. They’re also great for storing purses, in a way that you can easily see and enjoy them.
Tiny accessories, such as jewelry can also be stored in a cubby. Make a pretty display, so you can enjoy your beautiful pieces even when you’re not wearing them.
